Join passionate local guides on a journey into the ancient Huon Valley to view the remarkable Hastings Cave and soak in the Thermal spring-fed pool before rounding the day out with a walk amongst the treetops at Tahune Airwalk. Leave Hobart with a two hour scenic drive deep into the valley winding through the picturesque roads of the Deep South.
First stop is the Hastings Cave where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the largest dolomite cave in Australia. Guided by a specialist, guests marvel at the grandeur of stalactites, columns, shawls, and stalagmites. Following the labryinth of stairs in and out of the caves and take the opportunity to dip into the swimming pool fed by thermal spring water with a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius.
Following the cave adventure, the journey continues into the Tahune forest, where two hours are spent exploring the treetops of the Tahune Airwalk suspended 30 metres above the forest floor. As the day winds down, guests can relax on the return journey to Hobart, aiming for an arrival around 5:30 pm. This leaves ample time for rest at the hotel or indulging in the diverse culinary offerings of Hobart's fine restaurants.
